About
The trusted layer for surgical informed consent.
Surgeons have ten to fifteen minutes to explain procedures that take years to learn. Patients sign forms they don't fully understand. The result is poorer decisions, more complaints, and more litigation. Consentus exists to do better.
What we are
Consentus is a free, public library of surgical procedure videos and FAQs, made by named UK consultants. Each procedure page is authored and reviewed by a practising specialist with their GMC registration on the page. The editorial bar is rigour, not engagement.
What we are not
We are not a content channel, a clinic, or a medical advice service. We do not replace your consultant. We do not run ads, and we do not track patients across the web. The site exists so that the conversation in the consulting room can start ten minutes further along than it would have otherwise.
How we sustain ourselves
The patient-facing library is, and will remain, free. Consentus Ltd is a private company building a commercial platform sold to hospitals and private clinics — embedding the same clinical content into their consent pathway, with comprehension-verified audit trails for the record. The free side earns the trust. The paid side funds the work.
Our standard
Consentus is pursuing B Corp certification. Independent of that, we commit to: every procedure page authored by a named UK consultant; a last-reviewed date on every page, with annual review at minimum; no third-party tracking on patient-facing pages; and clear disclosure of any clinical or commercial relationship that could affect editorial content.
